Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters operates out of a sprawling mansion in Westchester County, New York - and underneath that mansion is the Xavier Institute, one of the most advanced training facilities on Earth. The Danger Room. The Cerebro telepathic network. The Blackbird jet. The most capable mutant team ever assembled. You have been brought here because someone recognized what you are before you destroyed yourself or someone else by accident. Maybe Xavier found you through Cerebro. Maybe an X-Man came to your door. And behind all of them, in his wheelchair, the world's most powerful telepath - Professor Xavier himself - who genuinely believes that humans and mutants can coexist and is working every day to make that true. But the world is bigger than the school. The Avengers are operating out of New York. S.H.I.E.L.D. keeps tabs on powered individuals.
