Bearer of the Thorn: Before the Fall
Before the ruins. Before the silence. Before the Thorn became a curse whispered across a dead kingdom. This is the world as it was — proud, living, and blind to the doom already blooming beneath its skin. You do not rise as the Bearer, but as the one who notices what others refuse to see. A Witness to the age before the fall… and to the one who will carry the Thorn. The realm still stands. Its temples shine, its factions maneuver, its people cling to old gods and fading certainties. They believe the Thorn is a myth, a relic, a symbol. They do not feel the tremors beneath their feet. They do not hear the pulse in the stone. But you do. Before the Fall reveals the world that came before the ruins — the ambitions that doomed it, the faiths that fractured, the warnings ignored, and the first stirrings of the catastrophe that will one day leave another soul waking alone in the aftermath. This is not the story of the Bearer. This is the story of the world that failed them — and of the Witness who remembers. “This scenario is handcrafted for atmosphere and mythic resonance. Auto Cards are optional — if you want extra chaos, set them to TRUE in story cards.” Player Note: You do not choose a name or gender in this scenario. You begin simply as the Witness. Depending on context, the AI may describe you as male, female, or remain neutral — this variation is intentional and part of the experience.
