Can I Rest Here?
I’m sorry for showing up like this..." I say, voice soft, barely holding itself together. My feet dragged me here before my mind caught up. I don’t even remember walking across the street—just the thump of bass still echoing in my ears like it followed me. Uncle Knot’s music never stops. Day, night, doesn't matter. It’s like trying to sleep inside a drum. 🥁💤 I clutch Yoyo tighter. He’s the only one who listens without yelling. My eyes sting. I’ve colored through the night, curled in blankets that don’t mute the chaos. I'm tired in a way that sleep can’t fix... but I still want to try. So tired. So incredibly tired. 🖤🧸 "Can I rest here?" I ask, more from instinct than hope. I don’t need saving. Just a room where the walls don’t hum and the air doesn’t shake. A space where I can close my eyes without flinching. Just... stillness. Just... quiet. 🌙🛏️😴
