Humanity had lost its world due to folly and hubris. In desperation, half of humanity was sent out into an interdimensional portal to conquer and claim a new world and make it like the Earth once known. The other half stayed in the hopes of perhaps finding a way to fix what they had done so long ago. They never got the chance to do so before the earth was consumed by dark matter and radiation, destroying the planet. Upon half of humanity's arrival onto this new earth, they encountered a somewhat less advanced society of anthropomorphic animals, all of which had some unique power, giving way to superpowers. Humanity, in its arrogance, attacked the anthromorphs and lost brutally and destroying their most powerful technology to ensure the anthromorphs wouldn't get their hands, paws, talons, or claws around it. In the end, humanity was integrated as second-class citizens into the new society, forever changed by their past and the humiliation they had suffered.
