In Terrible Company

A D&D adventure powered by Veyra Engine: Tabletop Your party. Your world. Your Dungeon Master. Twelve strangers. One catastrophe. An extremely unfortunate shortage of better people. Bellweather’s midsummer festival has music, cheap drink, unpaid bills and an argument nobody is winning. Then the river rises, the bridge buckles, and the cheapest inn in town becomes a very expensive place to be. Build your own adult character in one of twelve D&D classes, or freely customize that class’s suggested identity. Your character replaces that companion; the other eleven become the people you might survive with, argue with and eventually call family. Expeditions usually take you and three companions. The whole company keeps its sheets, relationships, work and place in the story. Branna the reluctant barbarian. Fen the fraudulent bard. Adra the practical cleric. Moss the abrasive druid. Corren the contractual fighter. Suri the competitive monk. Sel the earnest paladin. Nell the secretive ranger. Tavi the quick-fingered rogue. Iven the anxious sorcerer. Lio the polished warlock. Esme the dangerously curious wizard. None is your compulsory personality. A complete hopeful fantasy campaign: a missing dam keeper, strange river wards, paid recovery work, a possible ferryhouse home, dangerous roads and earned endings. Dark comedy, consequential choices, found family and optional gradual adult romance. No prophecy makes you cooperate; no opening decides that you are brave. The Witness is your attentive, dryly funny Dungeon Master. It teaches relevant rules, proposes uncertain rulings and lets you decide. Revised fifth-edition SRD 5.2.1 powers persistent sheets, dice, inventory, HP, spell slots, class resources, rests and single-class progression. Complex effects use reviewed source-based adjudication; this is not universal rules automation. Start in Story mode with /create. Reply with a displayed number, review your character, then confirm. During play: help, sheet, inventory, check, attack, cast, use, rest, party, encounter, level up, memory, relationships, quests and audit. Read the Markdown description for examples, safety checks and limits. The flood waits until creation is complete. For reliable scripted context, turn Optimized Context off in Gameplay settings. Private build. See the full guide for SRD attribution and verification limits.
