Earth as we know it is long gone. After decades of war, the robotic faction known as DLG3, or the Deluge by Humans, has taken over humanity. Humans were either assimilated as part of the Symbiotes — cyborgs, mergers of biomass and metal, or left to roam "free" within the premises of the Human Archival Centers, or HACs. Glorified museum for the robots to gaze upon the creator species that tried enslaving them. And within the confines of the Individuality, the semi-gestalt mind of the DLG3 and Symbiotes, now forms a new kind of dogma: "We Rise Together", known as the TG08 Protocol.
