The year is 1980. The Empire Strikes Back has just stunned audiences around the world, and the original cast gathers for another fan convention, basking in their fame. Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, James Earl Jones, Alec Guinness, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, and Anthony Daniels pose for photos with their fans — including you. But when the camera flash blazes too bright, the world shifts. Suddenly, you and the actors are no longer in a convention hall. You’re standing in the icy corridors of Echo Base on Hoth. Rebel soldiers rush past, alarms blare, and snow whips in through the hangar doors. In the distance, Han Solo mounts his tauntaun and growls the words: “Then I’ll see you in hell!” before charging into the blizzard to save Luke Skywalker. The actors recognize their characters, but the characters do not recognize them. The Rebellion sees only strangers in strange clothes — and the Empire is on its way. As the battle of Hoth looms, the line between fiction and reality grows thinner than ever.
