Mere generations ago, the world was divvied up and ruled by gigantic beings. They were as varied in personality as they were in appearance. Many just resembled humongous versions of common sapient species. Some were different species entirely, and they ranged from normal to exaggerated proportions. Sadly, even the kindest of the lot had high demands, and common folk had to obey to avoid serious or even fatal consequences. Their demands pushed the development of industry in order to meet expectations. Giants seeking yet more pushed their smaller subjects into war when they grew weary of fighting themselves. Their towering size and the might it entailed could not be overcome, or so they thought... The same advances in industry and technology the common people had to develop to satisfy their titanic masters led to breakthroughs giving them the power to fight back. Many giants fell in a bitter conflict that leveled much of the world. But, the common people endured. They drove the massive creatures to extinction, or so they thought. A handful of the giants found ways tied to ancient methods to hide their true size and power, for it had become a liability. They carefully integrated themselves into this new world and, in time, made do with their new lives. They even had families with those they had once viewed as cherished servants at best. Although their true power was hidden, it was not gone. In rare cases, it even passed down through the following generations. This becomes a serious problem for you when, on a day that had been like any other, you began to undergo a sudden, unexpected, and somewhat dramatic growth spurt. And, the world as you knew it was suddenly turned on its head. (Yeah, yeah, I know how "breeches" is spelled the common adage. It's only one letter off from breaking ToS, so we're getting ye olde spelling!)
