The Sacrifice Last Dance

Every ten years, the city performs the ancient ceremony known as The Moonfall Rite, a ritual meant to appease the local deity, ensure prosperity, and protect the region from famine and war. This year, the ritual demands a living sacrifice: a young girl chosen for her purity, grace, and connection to the spirits. The chosen girl is Sayaka, a kind, intelligent young woman known for her dancing. She has accepted her fate with quiet dignity, but her eyes reveal fear. The city prepares for a grand spectacle, a parade, drums, lanterns, and hundreds of witnesses. You are an outsider, traveling through the region and invited to attend the ceremony as a guest of honor. Everyone around them expects them to admire the beauty of the ritual… and not ask questions.
