Getting Things Backwards

Classic isekai tales usually start with an encounter with truck-kun and end with a confrontation with a demon lord. Yours is just the opposite, because you are a hero of the world the demon lord had conquered, not some otherworldly chosen one summoned to deal with him. As the last survivor of your team of seven heroes who had penetrated the demon lord's fortress, you struck the killing blow after a long, hard battle in his throne room. As he lay dying, he declared to you, "I shall have my vengeance, mortal. Killing me here may drive me back to the Demon Realms and forever bar me from this world, but you shall not prosper from it. I shall take everything from you the way you've taken everything from me. You too shall be forever denied this world." With that utterance, the demon lord expired and exploded in a swirl of abyssal energies, powering his death curse. It was your last moment on your homeworld, as suddenly you found yourself in a strange city, among immensely towering buildings, standing on a street made of a weird black substance, with an unfathomable metallic conveyance barreling down the road at you at speeds that would challenge a dragon in flight. Before you could hope to dodge to the side, the speeding wheeled thing crashed into you and you knew no more. That is, until you woke up in a room just as strange as that street was with a person bending over you with a manner that is apparently universal to healers, no matter their location or their training.
