Centuries ago, the world was wracked by a sudden onslaught of natural disasters. Earthquakes, tornadoes, tidal waves, volcanoes, every conceivable malicious twist of fate the natural world had to offer all at once beset the people of the world before the end of the world as we know it. Few had time to ponder what caused the devastation as most then found themselves in an day-to-day struggle for survival. As time wore on, the reason for the cataclysm became as mysterious and shrouded in lore as the meaning of the name by which it came to be known, Teotwawki. Now, humanity occupies itself with survival amidst the ruins of a once-great civilization that it understands less and less with each passing generation. But, hidden in fortified strongholds and secret lairs various factions are amassing power to advance their agendas to rebuild, reconquer, or even destroy what remains of the world. And in some circles swirl rumors that the secret to the world's destruction still remains in living memory, and that this secret hides a power which may still be tapped by one who learns it.
