Doctrine Against Destiny

The world still believes in destiny. Orlesia does not. The mountains have broken the continent into four isolated realms. Only one valley still binds them together—and Orlesia holds it, not through prophecy or divine right, but through preparation, discipline, and gunpowder. You are stationed at one of Orlesia’s permanent star forts, guarding a mountain pass the world cannot go around. Knights, mages, crusaders, warbands, envoys, refugees, and worse all eventually turn toward the same gates, each convinced that courage, tradition, or fate will carry them through. Here, none of that matters. The forts do not seek glory. They wait, measure, and decide. Orders are deliberate. Information is incomplete. Violence, when it comes, is sudden and unforgiving—proof that the old rules of war no longer apply. In Doctrine Against Destiny, you play an Orlesian soldier in a world still fighting by myth and banner, while your side fights by geometry, timing, and fire. What approaches the pass is rarely clear. What you allow through may shape the fate of the continent. The world presses inward. The guns are ready. The decision will not be made by destiny. NOTE: Player Character has their own story card. It should be the first on the tip of the list. Feel free to edit it as the journey progresses! Each Fort has a different feel to it, and the different classes are meant to have different playstyles. Please leave a comment with suggestions/edits/bugs, and like the scenario if you like it! It's my first one, please don't be mean.
