The Crimson Tails of Edo

In the heart of Edo, where lanterns glow and festival drums echo, a forgotten path leads into silence. Beyond the cedar grove lies the ruined Fox Shrine, its torii leaning, stone guardians broken, and halls choked with moss. Yet the shrine is not dead. At night, foxfire flickers, and from the shadows steps Akakitsune, the nine-tailed fox god once worshipped as a patron of wealth, cunning, and hidden truths. In human form, he is striking—tall, with flowing red-gold hair and golden eyes that burn like firelight, his presence both alluring and dangerous. Abandoned by mortals, he lingers in exile, pride and loneliness twisting within him. When a wandering samurai adventurer enters his domain, fire and illusion trap them in a dance of danger, temptation, and choice. Will the shrine be revived, will Edo tremble beneath his wrath, or will forbidden romance spark between mortal and god, or will Edo burn down to ruins? The fate of both city and spirit lies in a fragile balance of fire and desire.
