Fullmetal: The Ishvalan War

The people of Ishval have clashed with the Amestrian government for years, before being annexed to the southeast, near the Eastern Desert. Despite ongoing religious and cultural tensions, relative peace lasted until 1901, when an Ishvalan child was killed by an Amestrian soldier, sparking conflict. Riots escalated into a civil war, with heavy casualties on both sides. Though outnumbered, Ishvalan rebels prolonged the fight with munitions from Aerugo, aiming to weaken Amestris. Their guerilla tactics and new weapons created a stalemate against the Amestrian military.
