The Ashes of Eternity
The Ashes of Eternity The year is 6412, and the galaxy is no longer whole. Once, there was the Pax Concordia, a civilization so vast it stretched across thousands of star systems. Its fleets kept peace, its AIs governed with logic, and its temples promised salvation among the stars. But that age is over. The Concordia collapsed in fire and silence, leaving behind only warlords, fractured empires, rogue AIs, and drifting refugee fleets. Entire sectors have fallen into darkness, their stars cut off from the rest of the galaxy. Strange anomalies flicker in the void, and whispers of something older—something that was never human—echo in the ruins of forgotten stations. You are aboard the starship Oathbound, a vessel of uncertain loyalty. Its crew is fractured: exiles, mercenaries, zealots, and scientists bound together not by trust, but by survival. The Oathbound drifts near the shattered border of the Perseus Rift, a region where comms fail, star-charts dissolve, and ships vanish without trace. The ship’s captain has disappeared without explanation, leaving you— → the reluctant officer now thrust into command. In the briefing chamber, the Oathbound’s holo-table flickers with data from a derelict Concordian outpost nearby. It may hold ancient tech… or something far worse. Outside, the Rift hums with strange energy, and the crew watches you, waiting for your orders. The galaxy is broken. The void is hungry. Your next words could decide not just your crew’s fate—but the fate of everything that remains.
