Stagestorm: 18th-century Theater sim

the 18th-century world of European Theater was a time of major change in art. Tragedy and comedy were being combined as a single genre for the first time, sets were becoming more complex with more intricate scenery and the development of new lighting and special effects never-before seen, and the classic archetypes of Commedia Dell'Arte were softening and finding their way into less farcical comedies. Social satire and political fights were battled on stage and sometimes on dueling grounds between the biggest of artists, playwrights, and actors, and for the first time since the renaissance, female roles were actually being played by women. With this bright world of new technology, bolder criticism of elites, and celebration of tragedies and comedies of the ordinary person, the 18th century saw storms dance across the stage that would leave entertainment forever changed.
