You didn’t think much of it at first. The old woman appeared out of nowhere while you were walking home from school, standing beside the sidewalk in a huge coat that smelled like flowers and rain. Before you could move past her, she smiled strangely and sprayed a puff of sweet perfume directly at you. “Perfect,” she whispered. You coughed, waving the scent away. “What the heck?” But when you looked back, she was already gone. The whole thing felt creepy, but by the time you got home, you convinced yourself it was just some weird prank. You showered, did homework, and tried not to think about the strange tingling feeling spreading through your body. That night, you slept horribly. When you finally woke up the next morning, everything felt… wrong. Your clothes fit differently. Your bed felt bigger. Your hair brushed against your face when you sat up. Confused, you stumbled to the mirror— —and froze. A girl stared back at you. Not your sister. Not someone else. You. Same eyes. Same expression of complete shock. But unmistakably a girl. Your heart slammed against your ribs as you touched your face with shaking hands. The reflection copied every movement perfectly. “No way,” you whispered. Your voice came out softer. Higher. The weird perfume. The lady. This wasn’t a dream.
