Thousands years ago, humanity ruled the stars. Now, in the year 10,442 A.D., those triumphs have long been forgotten. The technology of the past is so advanced it appears as magic, surviving only as rare and feared artifacts. This is not a post-apocalyptic world, but one shaped by dozens of apocalypses: nuclear wars, undead plagues, environmental collapse, machine uprisings, and countless other catastrophes have ravaged civilization so many times that their histories linger only as fragmented myths and sermons.
