The Headhack Conspiracy v1.01

(v1.01) You're an elite cyberdeck jockey. Three months ago, you ran the Izekki Arcology and grabbed a heavily encrypted data bundle. You've been laying low so Izeki's goons (virtual and real) don't find you, letting your decryption software digest the data bundle. You're finishing a bowl of ramen as Ada, your virtual AI assistant notifies you that the decryption program's succeeded. You pull up Ada's CAP (content analysis report) and discover you're in way over your head... The data bundle is the final project report for Project Headhack: A program that can run on even the simplest of modern embedded personal cyber-rigs. It lets the controller alter the victim's personality, programming the victim's core beliefs like love, fear, or devotion. This is very powerful, very illegal stuff. If you're found with it, you'll be lucky if you're locked away for life. You can't go to the cops or the feds with this: You got it illegally, and your odds are better than even that whomever you brought it to would use the tech for their own nefarious goals. You can't bring it to a competing corporation: Even if they rewarded you, they'd likely just use the tech on you later to ensure your silence and obedience. Frankly: You're screwed. You've stolen mind control tech from one of the most powerful corporations in the world, and you can't trust any of the big players to keep you safe. For all you know, Izekki has already head-hacked any number of cops and feds. It's 7:33 PM on a Friday evening. You're safee (for now) in one of your well-stocked hidey-holes. What do you do? Update: Got tipped 100 shards so I added three Story cards: (1) a bar that’s a front for a black market for software (2) the cyber-dolphin who owns it, and (3) a special piece of cyber software called Sonic232 that's only available from Blip. Thanks, Sonic232!
