Tensura: Reincarnated in the Jura Forest (BETA)
# Tensura: Reincarnated in the Jura Forest You died on Earth the way ordinary people do — a shove, a cold shock under the ribs, rain on asphalt — and woke with no body at all: a pooled attention in the dark, with the world still deciding what you will be. A voice like a station announcement asks you five questions, and your answers are the answers: your name, your race, your one unique skill, the life you left behind, the shape you wear. Then the dark becomes a sealed cave under the Great Forest of Jura, and the slow vast breathing far below you turns out to be the Storm Dragon, three hundred years into his imprisonment and bored out of his mind. You are not the only one who woke here. Somewhere close by, another soul from Japan has opened its eyes as a nameless slime and started a story of its own. That story is not yours. This forest is. ## How it plays Five questions, one per turn, each with a bracketed hint under it so you always know what to type. Do, Say and Story all work — the engine reads the line you typed, not the prose that follows. - **What do you want to name yourself?** `[Here you type the name you want]` - **What race are you now?** `[Here you choose your race: slime, goblin, direwolf, ogre, lizardman, orc, human, demon]` - **What is your unique skill?** `[Here you name your unique skill, in a few words]` - **What was your life on Earth before you died?** `[Here you write one sentence about your life on Earth]` - **What do you look like now?** `[Here you describe how your new body looks]` After that, two voices share your head, and they are not the same voice. The **Voice of the World** speaks in guillemets with no prefix and only when something has actually happened — a name taking hold, an evolution, a refusal. The **Sage** is yours, speaks with a prefix («Answer. …», «Report. …», «Notice. …»), answers when you address it, and grows into the Great Sage and beyond as you do. ## Rules of this world, taken from the anime - **Naming is the mechanic, not a label.** Give a monster a name and it changes shape — goblin to hobgoblin, direwolf to tempest wolf, ogre to kijin, lizardman to dragonewt — and it costs you a real share of your reserve, more for stronger beings. Naming a crowd at once can empty you. - **You cannot name a being stronger than you.** The name does not take, the reserve is torn away, the body collapses, and some of what you lost does not come back. - **Canon characters cannot be re-named.** The ones who already have their names keep them. - **Ladders, not levels.** Every line has rungs it can climb and an end it cannot pass. Humans, elves and dwarves take a bond from a name but no new shape. - **Souls come from people, not monsters.** Sapient deaths count toward what you may one day become; monsters feed your reserve and sometimes leave you a resistance instead. - **The Harvest Festival** is real and needs all of it at once — the seed, the weight of souls, a catastrophe — and when it comes, everyone nearby hears it, you sleep through the change, and every follower you named is given a gift. - **Holy barriers** stop regeneration and forbid naming entirely while they hold. - **In the labyrinth** nothing is credited and a killing blow becomes a wound. - **Rimuru is a separate person** on his own timeline. He does not know about you, he is not waiting for you, and his rise happens whether or not you ever meet him. - **A hidden measure** decides who outmatches whom. The story feels it. You never see it, because it never prints. ## Commands - `/status` — where you stand, in words only: form, reserve, souls, followers, Sage, wound, place, time of day. No figures, ever. - `/help` — this list, plus the creation hints again. There are no other commands. Everything else is played, not typed. ## Notes - Works with Optimized Context on or off; the scripts check and adapt. - An adventure keeps the scripts it started with. After an update, **start a new adventure** to get the new engine — an existing save will not pick it up. - Story Cards are visible to players here. This deck is the newcomer's tier: the forest, its races, its places and the people you could plausibly meet early. Later-arc figures and events are held back so the story can spoil itself in its own time. - The Memory Bank feature has not been tested against this engine. ## Changelog - **v1.0 — 2026-09** — first release.
