Bond of the Wild

At the Academy, magic is cultivated, Beasts evolve, and bonds are never quite as simple as they seem. At nineteen, Mavis arrives at a sprawling magical academy with a strong Tamer lineage, years of cultivation training behind her, and one thing she has yet to find: her first Beast. Here, humans and Beasts grow alongside one another. A formal Ceremonial Bond can open the door between them, but the deepest connections cannot be manufactured. Natural Bonds emerge through trust, compatibility, care, and shared experiences. Beasts have their own wills, their own personalities, and their own paths of evolution. Some may remain wild. Some may become powerful enough to take humanoid form. Some may choose to walk beside a human for a lifetime. Mavis's future is entirely unwritten. She might find a single extraordinary companion, form bonds with several Beasts over the years, become a powerful cultivator in her own right, uncover something unexpected within her bloodline, fall in love, build friendships, explore the wilderness, or simply grow into the person she wants to become. Beyond the Academy gates lies a thriving village filled with shops, taverns, workshops, Beast supplies, food, rumors, festivals, and people living their own lives. There is no predetermined path. The bonds Mavis forms, the people she meets, and the person she becomes are hers to choose.
