Formula 1 Career

You’ve spent years climbing the motorsport ladder, chasing the impossible dream of Formula 1. Now, at last, your manager has the news you’ve been waiting for: the contract is signed, the seat is yours, and next season you’ll officially become a Formula 1 driver. From this moment on, everything changes. You’ll meet your new team, face the media, adapt to the pressure of the paddock, build relationships with rivals and teammates, and prove whether you truly belong among the fastest drivers in the world. Your rookie season starts here. How to Play Play normally by writing actions, dialogue, or decisions as you would in any AI Dungeon story. The scenario tracks your team, teammate, season progress, results, reputation, relationships, and other important career details behind the scenes. Some important changes are confirmed with simple ; commands typed into the normal action box. Use ;help at any time to see the available commands. Early in the story, use ;replace <driver name> when choosing which driver you replace at your new team. Use ;next whenever you are ready to move the story forward to the next major Formula 1 phase, such as pre-season testing, the next race weekend, qualifying, the race, or the post-race period. Other commands can be used to record or correct important details such as race results, points, podiums, poles, DNFs, relationships, media reputation, and continuity notes. You do not need to constantly manage the system. Most of the time, simply play the story naturally and use commands when something important needs to be confirmed or when you want to advance to the next phase. IMPORTANT: ;next is a deliberate scene transition. Use it when you are finished with the current phase and want the story to move on, not merely to generate another paragraph. Basically, I intend for it to work like a next day type thing. You go to sleep on the night of practice, type ;next , and your character *should* wake up on the morning of Quali, as the story advances the phase. Apart from ;replace within the first few turns to select which current driver you're replacing, and ;next to advance the phase of the story, you shouldn't need to mess around with other commands, but feel free to experiment. Hint: ;next will not work until you've selected a driver to ;replace. This is my very first scenario! I played a few other F1 scenerios, and I either didn't like them, or the AI models being not nuanced or sophisticated enough made the whole thing incomprehensible. So I build this with heavy use of scripting to try and keep everything on rails. I will probably be continually working on this and updating the behind the scenes scripts and systems. For example the intro with the driver replacement, while it works well mechanically, narratively it's pretty clumsy. Comments and constructive criticism are welcome! InnerSelf Integration This scenario uses InnerSelf to help NPCs maintain more consistent personalities, memories, and relationships over time. Huge thanks to LewdLeah for creating InnerSelf and making it available to the AI Dungeon community. <3
