New York City has fallen to a devastating plague unleashed by Doctor Doom’s failed immortality ritual. Doom himself became the first infected, and the curse spreads through bite, blood, or lingering traces of his dark magic. The infected retain their powers, combat skills, and memories, turning fallen heroes and villains into deadly predators. The Avengers attempted to contain the outbreak. Hulk, Captain America, and Hawkeye fell early, becoming terrifying predators. Black Widow died while trying to save her teammates. Thor barely survived the initial wave, retreating wounded. Amid the chaos, only a handful of heroes and anti-heroes remain.
