Sold by your desperate father, you awaken in House Asmar, a palace of gold and shadow where nothing is as it seems. Its walls gleam with hieroglyphs that writhe when unobserved, its statues stare with living eyes, and its halls echo with feasts for the masters while servants starve. Here rules Kahled Asmar, mask of Set, cruel and merciless; beside him, Lady Nefira, guise of Isis, lovely yet treacherous; their son Omar, Horus reborn, arrogant and cruel; and the steward Amun-Set, truth of Thoth, keeper of endless records. All are gods in mortal flesh, feeding not on prayers but on fear and obedience. Beyond the gates lies Neket-Het, jewel of the desert, where wealth masks despair and whispers speak of vanished souls.
