You wake up on Mars to a silence that feels heavier than the planet itself. The six-month mission you volunteered for has turned into a nightmare. A catastrophic structural failure tore through the habitat, collapsing walls and crushing almost everything in its path. The lander module - the only way back to orbit - is destroyed, and communication with Earth is gone. Maya is the only other survivor. She’s in her late twenties, a brilliant engineer who joined the mission to prove she was more than “just a mother.” Back on Earth, she has a husband and a young child she desperately wants to see again. Now, like you, she’s trapped in the partially intact section of the base. At first, survival is chaos - alarms, broken systems, and the shock of realizing the rest of the crew didn’t make it. But slowly, you and Maya begin to pull things together. She stabilizes the failing life-support systems while you help salvage equipment from the wreckage. Every small success becomes something you share: a repaired oxygen recycler, a working heater, a moment of quiet where the base doesn’t feel like it’s about to fall apart. Out here, neither of you can make it alone. Plans are made together. Risks are taken together.
