World War Z: Day Zero (The Global Outbreak)

300+ Story Cards!!! AC + Innerself + Story Arc Engine (Thanks to the developers of the scripts!) It started with a radio report. Something about a rabies outbreak. Internationally spreading. Authorities urging calm. Nobody stayed calm for long. Within hours the world as you knew it stopped existing. What replaced it moves fast, hits hard, and does not stop. The infected are not the shambling dead of old horror movies. They run. They swarm. They pile on top of each other to scale walls. They snap their jaws in a frenzied clicking rhythm even when there is nothing to bite. A single bite is all it takes. Twelve seconds is all it takes after that. This is the world now. The story follows two paths and you choose how they intersect. The first path runs alongside Gerry Lane, former UN investigator pulled back into the fight by the promise of safety for his family. His trail crosses the globe from a collapsing Philadelphia to a South Korean military base, to the walled city of Jerusalem at its breaking point, to a World Health Organization facility in Cardiff where the world's last hope for a camouflage against the infected might be locked inside a single lab wing. His path is urgent, methodical, and haunted by the question of what the virus wants from a host. The second path is yours. You are not Gerry Lane. You do not have a Navy ship waiting offshore, a UN contact pulling strings, or a virologist to escort. You have what you were carrying when it started. Maybe a car. Maybe a backpack. Maybe just the clothes on your back and a head start on the people around you who did not move fast enough. Survival in this world is not about being the strongest or the best armed. It is about understanding the infected. They ignore the sick. They pass over the dying. A body already compromised by disease is invisible to them. That observation, made by Lane in Jerusalem, is the closest thing to hope that anyone has found. Whether you chase that hope or simply try to live through the next twelve hours is entirely your decision. The world is enormous and it is breaking apart in real time. Philadelphia is gone. Newark is gone. Jerusalem has fallen. Somewhere in the North Atlantic a US Navy vessel called the USS Argus holds the people Lane was fighting to protect. Somewhere in Nova Scotia there is a refugee camp. Somewhere in Cardiff there is a lab with locked doors and something inside them that might change everything. You can fight toward the cure. You can run from everything. You can find other survivors and build something worth defending. You can make choices that intersect with Lane's mission or diverge from it entirely. The outbreak does not care about your plan. It only cares that you are alive and that you stay that way long enough to matter. The clock started twelve seconds ago. Move.
