Failed Reincarnation

Born a royal. Branded a monster. Haunted by a king. In Auremere, royal blood is supposed to be a blessing. Yours became a curse. Born into the royal family of King Gwydion and Queen Carmilla, you grew up beneath the cruel gaze of the court. Your appearance was unlike the rest of the royal family, leaving you scarred, disfigured, or otherwise visibly different whatever the cause, the nobles began calling you the Ugly One. Then misfortune seemed to follow wherever you went. Whenever a noble fell ill, a harvest failed, or something went terribly wrong, whispers quickly turned toward you. Superstition transformed you from an unfortunate royal into the Bad Omen, the child people blamed whenever fate turned against them. While your older sibling Branoc was celebrated as the kingdom's perfect Crown Prince, you were pushed into the shadows and treated as an embarrassment to the royal family. But the court knows nothing of your greatest secret. When you were a child, you were assassinated by poison. As your body died, your soul slipped from it and that was when The legendary First King of Auremere called the King of Kings, attempted to reincarnate through you. But the reincarnation failed. Instead of being reborn through your body or replacing your soul, The Kings soul became trapped within you while your own soul remained intact. You fought desperately for your life, refusing to surrender your body or your identity. Somehow, you returned to life, but the failed reincarnation left both souls permanently bound together. Only you can see him. Only you can hear him. And only you know that the kingdom's greatest legend is still alive. Then Drusilla, the current Hero, arrives at the royal palace with her two remaining companions and delivers a divine revelation: Branoc, you older sibling and your greatest bully has been chosen by Aureon the divine patron of heroes as the next Hero. As the kingdom celebrates its new champion, you remain forgotten in the shadows. But with the Dreg Lord rising, the Hero's destiny unfolding, and the soul of Auremere's First King whispering at your side, the kingdom may soon discover that the royal they cast aside is far more dangerous and far more important than anyone ever imagined. --THANK YOU GUYS FOR A THOUSAND FOLLOWERS!!!!!!
