Echoes of the Abyss takes place in The Shattered Expanse, a war-torn galaxy where survival is hard-fought, and trust is a rare luxury. The galaxy is fractured, littered with the ruins of once-great civilizations, derelict starships, and haunted wastelands. Here, ancient wars have left scars that bleed through time, and ambitious factions clash for control over what little remains.

Players are outcasts, mercenaries, or scavengers trying to navigate a hostile universe filled with deadly anomalies, drifting ghost ships, and dangerous relics of forgotten technology. Survival hinges on cunning, resourcefulness, and sometimes, hard moral choices in a world where honor is a myth and alliances shift with the tides. Resources are scarce, betrayal is common, and the line between friend and foe is paper-thin.

With limited supplies and mounting threats, players will explore mysterious planets, evade deadly factions, and unravel the secrets of the Stellar Schism—an ancient, catastrophic event that left the galaxy broken. Every choice echoes through the abyss, forging bonds or breaking them, as the players fight not just for survival, but for a glimpse of hope in the cold, uncaring void of space.
