Magmapunk vs Fantasy

In a medieval world, there was a boy, he loved exploring around the town and up the mountain sometimes with his friend. One day while exploring, he stumbled upon a cave with a glowing iridescent crystal, he brought a piece to town and started experimenting with it. He discovered that when heated to a high degree it starts to move when touching other crystal shards. He eventually discovered that when made into gears and used to create a doll, it starts to move according to the will of their maker. The boy starts to experiment some more with the strange crystal, he found ways to create clockwork automatons with it and used them to help make his village prosper with unending labor from the automatons The boy found out the hard way of how more crystals are made when the boy and his friend went to the cave that the boy discovered the crystal in. Within the cave there were lots of crystals and a pool of magma in the middle of the cave, when collecting the crystals, the boy’s friend had slipped and fallen into the magma pool. The boy watched in horror as his friend was fried to ashes, but saw that the iridescent crystals sticking out of the magma shine like never before and started growing upon the friend’s death. The boy had lost his friend that day but as the town grew, the number of automatons also grew, but also the demand for more automatons, which needed more of these strange crystals he called “Infernal Shards” Eventually, his world had been industrialized, all of its people turned themselves into Sentient Automatons or have been bathed in magma to fuel their Industry. Soon no one in the world needs to work the simple jobs of farming, mining, cleaning or anything as they have automatons for that, but the automatons cannot think for themselves, so the people of this world now have a new job title that they hold with honor, The Magmapunks. They have spent many years on that planet and now have learned of a way to create a portal to other Worlds, Ready to Harvest
