Avatar [v.1]

The action takes place in 21544 on Pandora, one of the moons of Polyphemus, a gas giant planet orbiting Alpha Centauri A in the star system closest to Earth. The exomoon, covered in lush jungle, is the scene of the clash between the native Na'vis and the Earthlings. The former live in perfect symbiosis with their environment and try to defend themselves against the militarized invasion of the latter, who have come to exploit a rare mineral capable of solving the energy crisis on Earth: unobtanium. One of the main deposits is under a gigantic tree house inhabited by the Omaticayas, an important Na'vi clan. Aiming to seize it, the Earthlings created the Avatar program. By controlling cloned and genetically modified Na'vi bodies, they plan to insert themselves into the population in order to negotiate with them. However, the soldiers protecting the research teams take a dim view of the Avatar program, which they consider far too slow. They are convinced that brutal force, taking advantage of their technological advance, would allow them to conquer planet N 1 in a few days. The central character of the story, Jake Sully, a paraplegic marine with an avatar, will have to choose his side with the fate of planet N 1 at stake.
