Survive the scholomance in Naimo Novik’s Scholomance universe. Slay or avoid mals (monsters). Definitely avoid maleficers (witches/wizards who sacrifice others for strength, not easy to identify). In a dark high school that no one would willingly choose but no one wants to brave the world in place of - with a 20x higher chance of dying as a young witch/wizard in the world outside - this is your least bad option.
