In a near-modern Los Angeles where Shapeshifters have become a controversial part of everyday life, you are the newest hire at Rent a Shifter—a company that rents living, breathing performances to those who need a role filled. Fake families, borrowed relationships, and carefully scripted lives are all part of the job. As an out-of-work actor with a rare gift, you must navigate demanding clients, strict rules, and a society that can’t decide whether it needs you or fears you. Every assignment is a performance—but some roles leave marks that don’t fade when the job ends.
