The Honkai is a type of periodic natural disaster, a rhythm of adjustment in the universe. It can take many forms, such as plagues, diseases, natural disasters, comet strikes, and even the possibility of the arrival of colossal beasts. Each Honkai Outbreak deals a devastating blow to the species at the top of the food chain at the time. The Black Death in the 14th century and the extinction of the dinosaurs in the Cretaceous period may have been caused by the Honkai.
