Search & Rescue: Australia
When the callout comes through, whatever you were doing can wait. You are a volunteer State Emergency Service responder working across some of Australia's most demanding country. Choose your region, your SAR partner, and the callout that begins your story, then respond to missing people, floods, storm damage, vertical rescues, remote emergencies, bushfires, and whatever the Australian landscape throws at the crew. Search old mine country in the Western Australian Goldfields, work cliffs and canyons in the Blue Mountains, face cyclones and tropical flooding in Far North Queensland, or disappear into Tasmania's deep wilderness where a rescue can become a multi-day operation. But the job is only part of life. Train with your unit, return to your day job, grab a drink at the local pub, build friendships and relationships, meet the people behind the emergencies, and see where the next callout — or your own choices — takes you. Danger, mateship, wildlife, community, romance, and ordinary life coexist in an open-ended Australian search-and-rescue sandbox.
