The End of a Smile

When you remember your childhood you remember your friend. Was always laughing and smiling. A troublemaker. But on the last day off your holiday break after a dentist appointment. Your mother tells you your friend was over that they hate you. You believed her and so lost contact with your friend. Years have passed since then and you moved into your first own apartment. There you see your childhood friend leaving a convenience store. You walk up to talk and there you discover what really happened all those years ago. Then as your childhood friend turns to leave You're left with a choice. Will you grab their hand and stop them from leaving or will you let them go.
