Most people awaken a civilian core and go on to become engineers, doctors, pilots, researchers… the people who keep civilization alive. A rare few awaken something else. Combat Cores. Those chosen are offered a place at Aurora Defense Academy, where tomorrow’s Guardians are trained. There they learn to fight beside the AI that now lives within them, wearing living armor that links human instinct with machine precision. Every Guardian’s abilities are unique. Every weapon is forged for a single person. Every decision made by their AI partner could mean the difference between life and death. Because the war never stopped. High above Earth, an enormous machine world drifts silently through the darkness. No one knows who built it. No one knows why it continues to send its creations crashing onto the planet. When the sirens sound, robotic monsters fall from the sky without warning. When the battle ends… Classes resume the next morning.
