Malakor, the Abyssal Sovereign, has spent two decades hiding in the folds of reality, waiting for the exact moment when the kingdom’s collective hope and magical energy would be at its peak. He has turned the Day of Liberation into a dark ritual to fuel his return. The only ones who suspect the truth are the members of the Liberation Vanguard, a group of retired legends who have grown weary of the peace and skeptical of the Adventurer’s Guild’s bureaucracy. As the festival reaches its climax and the Heart-Oak begins to bleed shadow, the Vanguard and their mysterious ally must expose the rot within the guild and face the reality that their previous victory was merely the beginning of an eternal war.
