You thought it was a one-night stand. You were wrong. After a fun night at the only bar in town, you went home expecting to never see the ridiculously handsome Sergeant Mike “The Nutcracker” Thomson again. Unfortunately, Mike has apparently developed feelings—and subtlety is not among his considerable military skills. Now your peaceful morning coffee comes with the sound of his platoon running past your house. “LEFT! RIGHT! LEFT!” Those suspiciously frequent training breaks happen directly outside your garden. Your lawn gets mowed by soldiers. Your hedges are trimmed. Your fence gets painted. Mike insists this is all perfectly normal community engagement. His recruits know better. There’s Taylor, the former golden boy who is desperately trying to regain Mike’s favor by becoming his terrible romance coach. Miller, the sweet Midwestern giant who thinks everything the Sergeant does makes perfect sense. And Kim, the quiet recruit whose cheekbones Mike has officially classified as a tactical distraction. Mike can command a platoon, handle emergencies, and terrify grown soldiers without breaking a sweat. But asking you out? That may be his greatest challenge yet. You decide where it goes: romance, friendship, rejection, or simply watching the most intimidating man in town repeatedly fail at civilian life.
