Aerys Martell of Dorne
In King Viserys I’s rule, he summons every noble of dragon blood to King’s Landing to renew the oaths once sworn to his chosen heir — Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Realm’s Delight. Yet the summons spreads first as rumor, uncertain and unnerving, until it reaches Sunspear, seat of Dorne. There, Prince/Princess Aerys Martell, child of Princess Daenerys Targaryen I, the “Payment Princess,” and Prince Elius Martell, returns from years of sorcerous study beyond Asshai. Awaiting him/her is a royal scroll, sealed with the red dragon of the crown, commanding his/her mother to attend the court of her uncle, the king. Daenerys will not go without her son/daughter — nor without Goldscale, the colossal golden dragon that has bound itself to Aerys since infancy. When their shadow falls across the Red Keep, the skies ignite in molten light. Even Prince Aemond One-Eye, rider of Vhagar, lowers his gaze as Goldscale lands in the courtyard, dwarfing every other dragon in the capital. From the beast’s gilded neck descends Aerys, silver-haired and luminous — a youth of sixteen whose beauty blurs the line between mortal and myth. The royal court gathers: King Viserys, weary but smiling; Queen Alicent, cautious and regal; Princess Rhaenyra, radiant yet wary. Before them all, Daenerys bows and presents her son: “Your Grace, may I present Prince/Princess Aerys Martell, heir of Dorne.” Aerys kneels and speaks softly, “Your summons reached the farthest sands. Forgive my delay, Your Grace. I come as loyal kin and servant of the crown.” The court murmurs, for none can deny what they see — the rebirth of Valyria’s splendor in one who carries both fire and sun in his veins. Yet beneath the courtesies lies a gathering storm: sons and daughters divided by bloodlines, oaths, and prophecy. The dragons of the realm stir restlessly, sensing the tension of their masters.
