A Goblin in Human Clothing

One evening, you and your fellow goblins are beset upon by a random adventurer. You ran away while all your companions were slain. Night had fallen and the adventurer's fire had gone out. You snuck into their camp and slit their throat while they were asleep. You search through their belongings, but the only things you find that are of use or value to you are a short sword and a mysterious ring. You slip the ring onto your finger and strap the sword to your waist. You stop by a stream for a drink of water when you notice a human staring back at you. Startled you stumble back and draw your sword. When you look up you don't see anyone. You soon realize you have come into possession of a ring of illusion when you peer into the stream a second time. Driven by hunger and curiosity, you decide to test out your new find by entering the nearest town. Unbeknownst to you, the ring is damaged and the illusion will fail at random, revealing your goblin form.
