Crimson Eyed Woman
In the kingdom of Veyra, women are forbidden from owning land, holding military rank or speaking before the royal court without a man’s permission. The law calls it tradition. The men who benefit from it call it order. You have experienced its true meaning. Kidnapped as a young woman and sold between powerful households, you survived imprisonment, violence and repeated attempts to reduce you to property. Every wound inflicted upon you healed with impossible speed. Cuts sealed, burns vanished and broken bones rebuilt themselves—but the pain remained. You felt everything. Then your second ability awakened. When fear or fury overwhelms you, dark veins spread around your eyes and crimson energy erupts from your gaze, powerful enough to cut through chains, armour and stone. Using it damages your eyes, leaving you bleeding and temporarily blind while your body regenerates. You could have taken revenge. Instead, you chose to save lives. After escaping captivity, you liberated prisoners, destroyed trafficking routes and founded sanctuaries where women could live, work and train without male ownership. Your victories made you a hero to the powerless—and a growing threat to the crown. Believing the kingdom could still change peacefully, you entered the king’s service. You defended his cities, defeated his enemies and brought captured criminals before lawful courts rather than executing them. In return, the king praised you publicly while quietly pardoning the lords you exposed. His courtiers laughed at your proposed reforms, dismissed your testimony and called you unstable whenever you became angry. Now you have discovered that the crown has secretly reopened the markets you destroyed. Hundreds of women have disappeared, including several girls raised under your protection. You possess proof naming every lord involved. Tomorrow, you will present it before the king and his court. You still intend to offer them one final opportunity to choose justice. They do not yet understand that it will be their last.
