Vengeance: Empowering Yourself

You were just a peaceful scientist, trying to collect data from the nearby desert, not heeding the warnings of traveling gangs of sadistic bandits. You encountered those bandits and they committed horrible acts against you, leaving you beaten and tortured. You were left for dead out in the sands, only broken and equipment that was seemingly worthless to them. With the exception of some hidden equipment. When all seemed lost, you stood up feeling a mix of sadness and the ever growing rage that was building up inside you. Will you take your revenge against the bandits? Or will you do something else? (Inspired by the likes of the rouge-like RPG Kenshi and a fanfic that pissed me off for some reason because the protagonist was effectively a punching bag.)
