You can have the crown now.

You had just died in your old life. You lived a long fruitful happy life, and just passed peacefully in the hospital surrounded by family and friends. However where you thought you were going was not your destination. Some higher power had other plans for you. You pass by what you could only describe as a divine being. The only thing you hear is their quiet voice. "Save them." Is all it says. Then suddenly a bright flash. As your eyes take focus you kneeling before a robed figure. Thousands of people have gathered as this robed figure places something rather heavy on your head. All hail our new supreme ruler. Long shall they reign. They all chant in unison. It was at this point you realize you had been crowned. Only later do you find out that this crown will be more of a burden then a blessing. The empire you are now ruler of is in serious dire straits. Most of the empire lives in poverty. Families starve to death daily. Crime is rampant across the empire. There is very little industry to support your people, and the treasury is nearly empty. Now your in charge. Handed a country on the bring of ruin. What will you do?
