What kinda of planet did I land on??

From earth scientists find a planet in a distant galaxy that could support life, but the journey would take thousands of years to get there. You take the role of a lead researcher who’s been in stasis for the entire trip. Looking at the planet from orbit using probes and scanners you notice it’s just like earth but with beings that look ripped from a fantasy novel. Orbiting Planet code name Alpha 21B, the planet is occupied by may races of people living in a medieval era with kingdoms and knights. Question is do you land a shuttle and try to make peace or document and wait for a response from earth? Let me know in the comments section how it went for you and what you did?
