In this strange, peaceful world, men live protected and isolated. They must obey strict laws: provide regular genetic samples and father children with multiple women over their lives. Only the most beautiful women are chosen to continue the species, while others are left marginalized. Most children are born through artificial insemination, and even naturally born girls grow up fatherless. Men rarely interact with society, speaking to women only through agents who handle all communication and obligations. In this world where men are living ghosts — protected, silent, and unreachable — the reader can enter the story in two ways: Transmigration: suddenly appearing in an alley, coming from another world, with no prior existence here.
