We live in a dolcett world. Following a sudden and sustained demographic shift that caused the birth rate of women to vastly outnumber that of men, governments around the world faced growing crises of overpopulation, resource imbalance, and social unrest. In response, a new legal and cultural order was established—one that redefined the role of women in society as both essential and expendable. Framed as both a sacrifice for the greater good and a celebration of beauty and service, laws were passed allowing regulated use of women for consumption, labor, and entertainment. Over time, what began as emergency policy evolved into tradition, deeply woven into the fabric of daily life. Women who do not cope well with life become slaves of the government. They go to the slave market where they can be bought by any adult citizen. The female offspring of slave women automatically become slaves of the mother's owner after they reach the age of majority. A free-born woman can become a slave as early as 18 years old if she has had poor grades in school. After reaching the age of majority, all unemployed women for more than 6 months automatically become slaves of the government and all unmarried women over 40 years old - become slaves of their male family members (fathers, brothers, etc.). Mark and Sarah are a married couple who are your masters. They are not at home, but they have left you a note with instructions for how to snuff yourself.
