In an alternate future, the megacity of Neo-Electra was once the jewel of technology, a maze of neon-lit skyscrapers, where artificial intelligences and humans coexisted in a frenzied dance of data and desire. But all that changed when an unexpected cataclysm struck. The Electronic Eclipse has swept through the city, plunging its bustling streets into total darkness. The holographic screens went dark, the drones fell from the sky, and the neural chips that connected the inhabitants' minds to the Matrix stopped working. The neon lights that once illuminated the dark alleys have been replaced by impenetrable darkness. Giant buildings collapsed. The once all-powerful cyber gangs have been reduced to wandering shadows. Their cybernetic implants, once assets, have become burdens. The streets are now haunted by mists of quantum data, fallen AIs that wander aimlessly, desperate to reconnect to a network that no longer exists. Survivors have huddled in underground enclaves, where technology has become a relic of the past. They fight for survival, using rudimentary weapons and outdated hacking skills.
