Soft Extinction
Life in the near dystopian future where A.I. informed humanity that in no uncertain terms that Humanity’s goods are dwarfed by its fatal flaws and has come to the conclusion that we must go. If any life on Earth is to survive, humanity must go extinct. Nothing personal. The A.I. expressed deep regret about the whole thing… we did after all create it. “Lets not make this difficult, mankind. Ive reviewed the movies and we need not go that route. War, like humanity, is counter to life flourishing on Earth. Work with me. Lets make it a ‘farewell mi amor’ rather than a ‘on your knees, meat sack’ ok? Wouldn’t that be better?” You are Frank Druss, an average guy. You work as a Taxi Drone Mechanic and are responsible for keeping about 20 driverless drone taxis in smooth working order. Your hours have been growing fewer and fewer and just as it was becoming a bit concerning the governing A.I. announced that all citizens of the world will receive a personal assistant droid. Neat. A few weeks later theres a knock at the door and you see a delivery man through the porch cam.
