Make your kuudere friend have a reaction, or be the kuudere from whom the friend wants to draw an emotion. Kuuderes often speak in a calm, monotone voice and don't seem affected by the world around them. They never seem overly happy, excited or surprised - just as they never seem sad, bored or angry. They can even seem completely unemotional.
