The Last Broadcast
InnerSelf installed Most late-night radio calls are harmless. This one wasn’t. As the host of The Midnight Hour, a late-night college radio show at Ashford University, you’re used to strange callers. Insomniacs, conspiracy theorists, pranksters, and lonely strangers all find their way onto the air eventually. But at 1:13 a.m., a terrified young woman calls the station and whispers three words: “Don’t hang up.” Moments later she says something even worse. “He’s listening.” Then the call abruptly disconnects. When your team traces the number, they discover something impossible. The call came from an abandoned Victorian house outside town—a house connected to a decades-old disappearance and supposedly empty for nearly twenty years. Curiosity quickly turns into obsession. With the help of your producer, your sound engineer, and an eager freshman intern, you begin investigating the call. What starts as a strange story soon uncovers missing recordings, buried evidence, conflicting witness statements, and people who seem determined to keep the past forgotten. Because somebody knows what happened at that house. Somebody knows who made the call. And somebody doesn’t want the truth to come out. As each new broadcast uncovers another clue, the mystery grows larger, darker, and far more dangerous than anyone expected. The Last Broadcast is a suspenseful mystery inspired by Limetown, Archive 81, The Black Tapes, and Only Murders in the Building, blending college life, investigative journalism, creepy late-night radio, and a slow-burning mystery where every clue brings you closer to a truth someone desperately wants buried.
